Feminine Europe
On International Women’s Day, which is celebrated every year on March 8th, the Camerata Europæa cooperates with different partners in portraying women artists and composers from different European countries.
The aim of this concert series is to draw attention to the status of women in the musical structures of society, thereby adding a cultural constant to the political aspect of International Women’s Day.
Within the context of Feminine Europe, the Camerata Europæa dedicates itself to works by women composers and works written for women, which can be performed by an orchestra or chamber music ensemble.
These concerts are combined to a harmonious pageant with different forms of art, such as exhibitions of graphic art, paintings or architecture. Highlights of the concerts are also the solo performances of various women artists under the direction of the Camerata Europæa’s chief conductor Maria Makraki, or guest women conductors.
